IN QUARANTINE

During the COVID-19 pandemic Quint (10 years old) needed to stay at home from school various times.
Sometimes it was because he himself was infected,
other times classmates were infected and the whole class
had to go into quarantine.
Every time though, Quint didn't feel ill
and was able to attend classes online.
Nevertheless life in quarantine was boring (his own words)
and let him walk around in his onesie all day
and spend more time on his iPad than his parents appreciated.
Fortunately people came over to bring sweets and other gifts, which made Quint very happy.
As I was observing him I found it fascinating to once again see
how flexible children are:
easily adapting to the new situation,
with hardly any protest and simply accepting
the situation as it is and making the best of it.
