LAOS & CAMBODIA

In 2018 I travelled to Laos & Cambodia with my family. We travelled overland from Luang Prabang to Vientiane and then to the south of Laos to stay on the 4000 islands. From there we crossed the border into Cambodia to visit Phnom Penh, Battambang and Angkor Wat.
What I loved about these countries is their authenticity. Even though there are some tourists there, it is still easy to see the daily life of Cambodians and Laotians.
Then, as I have studied all about Buddhism during my time as an Anthropology student, of course I loved visiting temples and the traditional Tak Bat ceremony (giving of the alms to the monks) in the morning.
Both Laos as Cambodia are definitely countries I would recommend if you like to travel off the beaten track, amongst beautiful people and culture.
