FRANCE

For Dutch people France is the number one holiday destination. Also for me. I don't remember how often I have visited France. When I was a child, we went there with my parents. And now, with my own family, we go to France for a couple of weeks each year as well.
France is very diverse, but there are a couple of things you see all around the country and one of them is Jeu de boules (a ball game). At the end of the day people (mostly men) come together at the village square for a game of Jeu de boules. With a lot of laughter and discussion they compete and then, when the winner is known, they all have a glass of wine.
I love to sit on a terrace at that time of the day and just observe that daily ritual take place.
